MARINE LOGISTICS

Integrated offshore logistics, vessel chartering, and cargo transfer support for upstream operators.

Ocean Freight

The Operation

APT Logistics has provided integrated marine logistics services to the oil, gas, and shipping industries since 2006. From our base in Warri, Delta State, we move crude oil and cargo across the Niger Delta's inland waterways — from field loading jetties at Koko and Gelegele to delivery at the Escravos Terminal.

Unlike brokers who charter third-party tonnage, we operate our own fleet: five purpose-built vessels — four self-propelled crude oil barges and a twin-screw tugboat — with a combined cargo capacity of over 33,000 barrels. Every operation is run to a disciplined sequence, from pre-sailing briefing through loading, ullaging, transit, and discharge, with safety checks at each stage.

How We Run Every Voyage

Each crude evacuation follows a controlled eight-step sequence:

  1. Pre-sailing briefing — crew, route, and safety review before departure.

  2. Barge berthing at the loading bay — controlled approach and mooring at the jetty.

  3. Loading hose connection — pressure-tested hookup to the shore or storage facility.

  4. Crude oil loading — transfer from the field storage facility using dedicated booster pumps.

  5. Tank ullaging — measurement and verification of loaded volumes across all cargo tanks.

  6. Transit to Escravos — laden passage under tug escort through inland waterways.

  7. Arrival at Escravos Terminal — berthing and pre-discharge checks.

  8. Discharge connection and delivery — metered discharge and cargo reconciliation.
